The Cisco Kinetic IoT platform enables companies to extract data from a variety of sources, transform and transmit that data, and reliably deliver it to realize business outcomes.  The Cisco Kinetic platform leverages Cisco’s expertise in security to programmatically ensure the right data is delivered to the right application at the right time, across multiple clouds and locations, with policies to ensure data ownership, privacy, and security.

The Kinetic Cloud Enablement group is responsible for the development and operation of the cloud environment powering all Cisco Kinetic hosted IoT products.  Our team of cloud engineers works to design, develop, secure, automate, and operate application infrastructure in a variety of public and private clouds, providing the engineering group a consist platform atop which they deploy IoT application components.

Join a high-performing team, working in the most leading-edge and exciting areas of the IoT Security, the DevSecOps Engineer will play a major role in building and contributing to hardened IoT infrastructure solutions. You’ll have an opportunity to build infrastructure, tools, and solutions to improve the DevSecOps flow and get involved in other advanced projects that involve complex solutions and hybrid cloud and security configurations, at scale.

Focused initially on supporting the existing engineers and ongoing compliance activities, the DevSecOps Engineer will work across several time zones with a variety of specialized engineering groups located in various places around the world.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong IT Security background (network security, SSL, pen testing, hardening, certs)
  • Strong Solaris or Linux systems administration experience, operations focused: +10 years
  • Strong experience with Public Cloud Solutions

Technical Requirements

  • Experienced with Defense-in-depth, hardening and mitigation strategies
  • Experienced with Operating System Security, Container Security, and Application Security
  • Familiar with compliance frameworks, security best practices, and product security baselines
  • Experience with one or more automation tools (terraform, ansible, puppet, chef, etc.)
  • Experienced with web services, databases, and message bus technologies
  • Familiar with proxies, shell configuration, advanced ssh client configuration and tunneling
  • Experienced with advanced networking tools and network concepts (overlay networks, etc)
  • Experienced with multi-tier infrastructures (in cloud or hybrid environments)
  • Experienced with containers, container orchestration, and/or serverless technologies
  • Experience with centralized logging and filtering (logstash, ELK/EFK)
  • Familiarity with HIDS, IPS, and file integrity management systems (OSSEC)
  • Experienced in system performance tuning and system troubleshooting
  • Experience with web development technologies
  • Ability to draw detailed diagrams and write clear documentation
