Job Location: Basic Solutions Corporation, 46724 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538.

Job Duties:

• Use metrology (measurement) equipment to characterize optical components of a VR (Virtual Reality) system.
• Characterization of optical components including: Roughness or geometry profile of optical elements such as lenses; Color profile or spectral response of displays, lenses, etc; Thickness, flatness, and parallelism of optical components; MTF, PSF, ESF are linked to the optical response of optical elements; & Polarization or spectral response of optical elements.
• Alignment of optical components for testing and characterization.
• Create test experiments and jigs to perform analysis on optical components.
• Relay experiment results to the engineering team for feedback on optical design.
• Use ImageMaster Opti-Centric to center optical components for testing.
• Use ImageMaster HR for MTF measurements and characterization.
• Use interferometers to test films, lenses, and surfaces geometry and thickness.
• Characterize display color spectrum and intensity of pixels.
• Work on the development of new technology for VR systems including: Projection technology; Light modulation (standard lenses, Fresnel lenses, Meta-lens, thin films); Polarization control technology (Beam splitters, mirrors, and birefringence); Simulation for optical systems; Optical filtering (Thin films, filters, diffusers, polarizers, color filters, selective mirrors); & Waveguides and prism technology.
• Other similar duties as assigned.
  
  

Work Time: M-F; 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. 40 hrs/week.
Salary: $134,077 per annum.

Job Requirements:

Job requires a Master’s degree in Information Sciences and Technology, Computer Science and
Software Engineering, or equivalent degree with 1 year of experience in the Job offered or any
occupation in which the required experience was gained.

Experience to include: Metrology equipment to characterize optical components in mixed reality
systems; and using Matlab; Optical Component Alignment and Characterization including Project
Technology, Light Modulation and Polarization Control; Simulations and Optical Filtering; and
tools including: Optical Surface Analysis tools, Optical Property Measurements; Matlab; Thin
Film Vacuum Deposition Tools and Polarizer Technology.
Various worksites: relocation to project-based unanticipated locations within USA possible.
